Lorena & Drew – July, 2014

Every wedding that I am a part of is very special, but this wedding in particular was extra special. Good friends of ours, Lorena and Drew, tied the knot in Twin Lakes this past July. Not only did I have the honor of creating the floral arrangements for this gorgeous picturesque mountain wedding for two awesome people, I was also a guest, so this was one of the few times I got to see all the flowers “in action” so to speak. Seeing everything come together was amazing!

Purple was the main color of Lorena and Drew’s wedding, so we designed arrangements that incorporated and complimented this rich color. Lorena’s bridal bouquet was created from purple dahlias, circus roses, green hypericum berries, purple lisianthus, purple statice, black cat scabiosa, white freesia, and a few purple clematis, which were picked from my own back yard! Her bridesmaids carried vibrant bouquets of orange dahlias, green hypericum berries, purple statice, and baby’s breath. Drew’s boutonniere was made from a white freesia bloom, and a touch of green hypericum berries and purple statice. The groomsmen wore mambo spray rose boutonnieres with a touch of purple statice and baby’s breath.

I had the opportunity to work with two fabulous photographers, Jesse and Moira, of Jesse La Plante Photography at Lorena and Drew’s wedding. We had crossed paths earlier at a couple of bridal shows, so I was excited to finally work with them. Thank you for the beautiful pictures, Jesse and Moira!
