I am so honored to share this gorgeous wedding! With each wedding I do my artistic ability is expanded through color/flower combinations that I have not yet worked with. I have a great appreciation for new designs. While I tend to naturally be drawn to more color, the softness and beauty of neutrals can be absolutely breathtaking.
I got a call one day from a very sweet woman named Windy asking if I would be available to help with the flowers for her mom, Helen’s, upcoming wedding. Windy had previously worked in a flower shop and had originally wanted to design the floral arrangements for her mom’s big day. Windy is a mother of three young children, though, and she was also going to be bridesmaid in her mom’s wedding. After realizing that taking on the task of creating all the arrangements was going to be too much, I came on board as their florist. I am so glad I did! Not only did I get to create some incredibly gorgeous floral pieces, but I had the opportunity to work with these lovely ladies. At the same time Windy got to fully enjoy and experience her mom’s wedding. It was a win-win overall!
Helen and Danny were married at Lakewood Country Club. Helen had chosen an absolutely gorgeous off-the-shoulder ivory dress and she wanted the flowers to match in color and elegance. Her bridal bouquet was created from chloe calla lilies, sahara roses, carmel antike garden roses, white ranunculus, and lily of the valley. Three silver beaded leaf appliques were added to the base of her bouquet on top of the ivory chiffon wrap, which matched almost perfectly to the detailing on her dress. Windy carried a smaller version of Helen’s bouquet, and Windy’s daughter carried an even smaller version. Two different arrangements were created for the table centerpieces, a plume of flowers on top of a trumpet vase and manzanita tree branches with hanging crystals and votives. The reception room, with the chair covers, the beautiful linens, and all the glassware, looked stunning.
Thank you to Jodi Ellen Photography and Bernard Grant for the beautiful pictures!
This wedding was so soft and so romantic, and was, by far, one of the most elegant events I have ever seen! Helen and Danny, I wish you both the best! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your special day and for trusting me to create gorgeous florals for your special day. Congratulations!
