LINDSAY & MICHAEL – OCTOBER, 2014

I cannot even begin to describe how excited I was when I met with Lindsay and Michael to discuss their wedding flowers and learned they would be having a Halloween-themed wedding. A Halloween wedding had been in my daydreams and was on my ‘someday’ bucket list. In my head I was already designing a styled shoot (mock wedding scene) just so I could create Halloween-inspired florals. So when Lindsay and Michael told me they would be having a Halloween-themed wedding, I was jazzed to say the least. I absolutely love out-of-the-box and unique celebrations!

Lindsay and Michael were married at the historic Grant Humphries Mansion in Denver. It is one of my favorite wedding venues in Denver and was the perfect location for Lindsay and Michael’s wedding.

For her bouquet, Lindsay chose a beautiful combination of red paris roses, chocolate dahlias, schwarzwalder calla lilies, purple lisianthus, red globe amaranth, red astilbe, monkey tails, liquid amber leaves, and pumpkin tree branch, which are little mini orange, yellow, and green ‘pumpkins’ on a stem. We also incorporated several Halloween brooches into her bridal bouquet. Lastly, as the ceremony was to begin right at sunset, we decided to add an LED light strand into Lindsay’s bouquet so it would glow. This was an idea that originally came from my mom a couple years back who had joked that I should make a bouquet light up. It ended up being a fabulous idea! Michael’s boutonniere was created from a schwarzwalder calla lily, a pumpkin tree bloom, and liquid amber leaves. The ceremony area was decorated with silk maple leaves garland, mechanical bats whose eyes glowed red, and carved out pumpkins filled with pumpkin tree branch, Chinese lanterns, and bittersweet vine, each adorned with an LED light strand.

These gorgeous pictures were taken by Teresa and her husband Woody, of Tega Photography. Teresa’s artistic style captured this Halloween-themed wedding beautifully!

Lindsay and Michael, it was so much fun to be a part of your wedding! I hope you are doing well and having a blast as a newly married couple!
